I read the blog about using Flip cameras. I use them in the classroom all the time too. We also record kids reading so they can see and hear themselves read. They love it! We took the city bus to the downtown library yesterday. We had two digital cameras and two flip cameras with us. Kids took photos and videos the whole time. We videotaped our interview of our media teacher the other day and then videotaped the interview of the children's librarian at the library. It is a great way to go…

I have never thought about copy right issues when it comes to my students. I have to say I do think about it when I am looking for pictures or articles for my students. Today my students were working on their current even and I was more aware of what they were writing and how they were writing. Something they don't even think about is giving credit to the actual author. I need to work with them on that.

Flip cameras are a very user-friendly and effective classroom technology tool. If you have access to a flip camera, I would highly recommend trying it in your classroom. My students enjoyed making short videos as a culmination of our Betta Fish research project. We also used flip cameras this week with our Reader's Theatre plays. After the announcement from Apple about the iPad2 text book unveiling I had my AP students watch the podcast and respond. Their comments were interesting. Many were worried that if a text book were to become to interactive there would be no need for teachers. I thought that was an interesting thought since those two AP classes are flipped classes. Last night I had my first meeting for the iPad pilot (I have a class set of 30 iPads wanting to be used) that I am going to be a part of. I was really excited to get mine, until I opened it up and found a big scratch on the screen. I still went through the set up but I turn it in at the end of the meeting and will hopefully get mine sometime today if it gets delivered to me at school.
